The AUS vs ITA tennis tie in the Davis Cup 2023 final will be available on live stream and telecast in USA. The tie will start at 10:00 AM ET.

Australia are the second most successful nation in the Davis Cup tennis tournament with 28 titles, only behind the USA’s 32. However, their last triumph came in 2003.

Australia eased into the Davis Cup 2023 final with a commanding 2-0 win over Finland on Friday in Malaga.

Alex de Minaur, 12th in the ATP rankings, and Alexei Popyrin, world No. 40, won their matches to seal the tie early. Lleyton Hewitt, who played in Australia's last Davis Cup win 20 years ago, is also in the team but as a non-playing captain. An in-form Matthew Ebden, the current partner of Rohan Bopanna on the ATP circuit, leads the Australian challenge in doubles.

However, Australia will face Jannik Sinner’s Italy in Sunday's final. Sinner defeated Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in the semi-final on Saturday and is the No. 4 ranked tennis player in the world.

Italy enter the final on the back of an impressive 2-1 win over a highly-rated Serbian side. Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic defeated Lorenzo Musetti in the first match of the tie before Novak Djokovic was stunned by Jannik Sinner in a similar fashion.

Jannik Sinner teamed up with Lorenzo Sonego in the deciding doubles contest to defeat Novak Djokovic and Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets and take the 1976 champions into the Davis Cup final for the first time since 1998.

However, Australia, who have possessed well-rounded teams historically, lead Italy 8-4 in Davis Cup head-to-head records.

The most prestigious nations event in tennis — the Davis Cup — is back once again in the beautiful Spanish city of Malaga.

Can 2022 runners-up Australia win their first title since 2003? They're just one matchday away from doing so. A victory over Finland in the semifinal means they will face either Italy, who defeated Serbia in the last four.

Great Britain were knocked out at the quarter-final stage after their feisty 2-0 loss to Novak Djokovic and Serbia on Thursday, with Cameron Norrie unable to stop the reigning world No1 and Jack Draper also going down to Miomir Kecmanovic.

It is Italy next up for Serbia after their win over the Netherlands, with a swift rematch of the ATP Finals showpiece now potentially looming between Djokovic and Jannik Sinner.

All ties are played over a best-of-three format, with two singles matches taking place first and a doubles match then used as a decider if necessary.

Earlier this week, Finland defeated Canada and Australia toppled Czech Republic in a pair of shock results given the two ousted sides were undefeated in the group stages.

The group stage was held across four cities – Bologna, Manchester, Split and Valencia – in September, now players head to Malaga, Spain for the knockout rounds with the title up for grabs.

Eight countries are taking part in this year’s Davis Cup finals, including defending champions Canada and 2022 runners-up Australia, plus powerhouse tennis nations like Italy and Novak Djokovic’s Serbia.

The Davis Cup Finals Group Stage features eight national teams playing in Malaga, Spain, with the winners moving onto the quarterfinals, semifinals and then the 2023 Davis Cup final. Canada is the defending Davis Cup champion though they were eliminated by Finland already.

The U.S. has won the Davis Cup a record 32 times and was considered by many to be the favorite this year but the Americans were knocked out in earlier group play. Oddsmakers now predict Australia or Italy to take home the title with the Canadians also in the mix.
